David Letterman calls pregnant man “androgynous freak show”
David Letterman took a stab at Thomas Beatie, the pregnant man, on Wednesday night calling him an “androgynous freak show.” Some gay rights advocates find the comment offensive, but I’m not mad at Letterman.

Beatie will appear on The Oprah Winfrey Show Thursday and recently sat down with People magazine.
“I’m a person and I have the right to have my own biological child,” Thomas said.
“If Nancy could get pregnant, I wouldn’t be doing this,” Beatie tells People of his wife’s hysterectomy. “Who hires a surrogate if they are perfectly capable of carrying their own child?”
Beatie told Oprah: “I see pregnancy as a process and it doesn’t define who I am. Ironically, being pregnant doesn’t make me feel any more female or feminine.”
Thomas started life as a woman but later became a man. He kept all of his female parts and his quit taking testosterone.
